vimalachitta and nagabodhi's wedding

last weekend i went down to london for vimalachitta and nagabodhi's wedding. i had a great time. on friday afternoon we had a little, intimate ceremony at the east london buddhist centre in bethnal green. i was pleased to be the celebrant and it was very simple and beautiful. afterwards we had cake and coffee in the wild cherry restaurant.
then on saturday there was the civil wedding at hackney registry office and then a do at a hall in bethnal green. it was very joyful and i enjoyed seeing them so unashamedly happy. they are both loved by loads of people and that was obvious. the atmosphere was delightful.
it was a bit like a reunion from the order in bethnal green in the 80s. a real blast of old pals which i thoroughly enjoyed. it was great to catch up with siddhiratna who i haven't had a good gab with since his daughter was just starting school. now she is doing her gcse exams (so more than 10 years have passed). and also tejamati who i worked with in the early 80s - oh and loads of others.
also very nice to stay at atula's and catch up with him and see nagaraja and hang out a lot with dhammadinna. i felt like i was on holiday. the sun shone and i had a great old time.
sunday i had breakfast with candradasa! last month supper in new york, this month breakfast in bethnal green. what a charmed life i lead.
